Have you ever thought about embedding data visualization into your PDPs in Project Server 2010? Well, I did! And the basic idea is quite simple.
- Create a PDP
- Add the “Query String (URL) Filter” web part to the page
- Read out the projuid parameter and hand it over with a web part connection to another web part on the page
This concept works in PDPs for
- embedded Excel documents
- embedded views of SharePoint lists
- embedded Visio drawings
- even for embedded InfoPath forms!
and of course SSRS reports!
So here is an example of a SSRS report embedded in a PDP. (The data for the report is based on snapshots taken from the Reporting DB using SSIS)
